iTRAIN {product review}


So I have mentioned before how much I love yoga BUT I am a broke student and there is no way I can afford yoga regularly right now. Lucky for me, a friend of mine who works at a publishing company sent me a gift card to try iTRAIN and I love it. iTRAIN is an online program that various well known trainers have contributed to and basically you download their voice guided workouts to your MP3 player and take them on the go. While they are voice guided, they are also set to music to keep you pumped up during the workouts.

I was obviously most excited about the iSTRETCH category because of the Yoga and Pilates involved. I personally don’t like yoga videos because I think having to look at the TV completely defeats the purpose of yoga. With iTRAIN you can sample all of the different ‘programs’ – which are various workouts in varying times all set to music with a trainer’s voice guiding you where needed. I sampled a couple of the yoga ones and then decided on one to download. I took it in the backyard with my yoga mat and got to work. It was SO NICE to be able to do yoga on my own (but with some guidance) in my own yard with good music. The yoga workouts range from $6.99 to $12.99 – which is a major difference from a class at $25 dollars for one time.

They DO offers videos for various workouts also if you prefer that. One I want to try is the iSCULPT Ballet which is 45 minutes and $10.99.

I also tried a Combination one which combines yoga, pilates and dance conditioning. It’s completely not what I’m used to, but that why I like it.

If you’re not sure where to start, you can ‘Build Your Fitness DNA” by answering a short questionnaire that guides you towards the optimal workouts for your lifestyle.

They also have full routines if you just want to pick a 5 or 7 day plan and they lay out exactly what to do for you – this is great for those who just aren’t sure where to start.

I think that this a great resource for people who want things to do at home or outside but need a little extra guidance or just want someone in your ear telling you what to do but can’t afford a full time trainer. This is also great if you want to try something new (like ballet for me).
